eye forget

Individual on a library chair cross-legged, slanted posture, defined by my hue too. glued to this book of content unknown, under clouds too. hoping as you. not fearful of that, so they say. spread open again, flesh book, i grin. same name. no change. i don’t even remember me then. i wont begin to explain. this amnesiac has too much hunny, too little time, nothing to rhyme… vinegar for mind. we all do at times. as valued by how scarce it is; here is a free poem. no wonder im broke. on this chair seeing knowledge is the most valuable resource; cant sell those wares. bare. anyway. one day my eulogy or headstone will say: he was good at Twitter, people liked his stuff on Facebook. all prone. but not with that. it’s important. that media won elections and stole our souls. butt eye forget two.

Faces that were there (Less Dead)

I saw a reflection of a painting

of smiling faces
across a plastic desk display;

Each crack & line came shown,
each emotion came expressed.

And even in that brief one-off moment,
compared to vis-à-vis
with the ever-connected living,

they come across as less dead.

we are the same

You, me; us we—forward or backward,
together we are the same.

Parts of a carnal body, whole—
built of dust, thoughts, and air;
no scar is without a measure,
no action still unmoved,
shell of human being outside,
ghost of us within.

We are compelling a kind,
eyes peer to see;
from Franklin and Nicollet to NE,
Middle America to Middle East.

Still, forward or backward, we are the same.

Mental Morning (Me Post-Structuralism)

A bunch of facts and a boom

I’m scattered across the floor

Quick! Run-

Grab the broom:

Me Post-Structuralism

***

I lost my shit over breakfast this morning

The weather made me do it

Not the hangover

Or Clover

Oh, brother

No other lover

Apology of Autonomy

Soft as applesauce

Sometimes we make choices

Sometimes we get lost…

Raised red streaks down pale face shimmering

Of reckoning; today is the coldest day

One of those

‘Til tomorrow

Then we have to change yesterday’s name

Cold, sick, and hollow

Deep tracks we’ve followed

Cuddle long always

Wallow until warm stays

Over coffee, blank verse, and burnt toast

This one goes out to the one I love the most

I apologize profusely

To put it truthfully

Frigid weather courses through me

Computer screen’s bluey

Let’s make a hibernate date

I’ll change around Mid-May

Promise_

-Out-

On the Campus Connector

On the campus connector

Day in and day out

Packed like sardines

Commuting about

Fidgeting feet

Finding transit retreat

No alternative route

So far from the house

Between Twin City scenes,

They stand in troves huddled in bunches.

Everyone rests

Until their stops

Too late for comfort

They stand to eat their lunches.
