Ms.

a true
genius
puts
dead
bananas
in
the
fridge
and
doesn’t
make a
fuss
to tell
the
entire
world.

no words
of
the
bard
necessary,
no
care
at
the
ready
local
opinion.

she
does
so well
as
she is,
she
does
so
well
as she
does
at
this.

Self Help

Neurotic self
is
no help,
so
go without.

Or just go.

The Meaning of Happenings

Things just work out
In acutely unique states-
All around the world,
In many different ways.

Ephemera on the Walls of Time (prose)

And the gravity was of another land,
another culture, another time.

Things we brought with: our past.
Things we can’t keep: anything.

Taking and giving chips at a time,
plumes of dust,
or sand in an hourglass.

Being ground down to smooth,
to thin, the purpose to prove,
with time; there is nothing taken
that is not given back.

These are facts.

Sitting at a table where once other
elbows rested, where once other thoughts
stirred, once out a window bright sun blur,
these buildings still once stood, as
they do now- and again.

Somehow, someway, here now today,
but can I take this away?

No.

It is right here, right now. That’s all.

Love the way it is

Everything I need is right beside me:
Life
Passion
Mindset-

Honest intuition and heavy thought.

The ability to make others laugh and reflect on that;
the love
the will
the equanimity;

Without those things there is nothing.

-We may be lost…

Are you digging a hole just to take you down a notch?
-Rather, one must bring a ladder.

Nothing is really that bad
there is no reason to cry,
-not to say it couldn’t be better-
you could make it a try.

Love the way it is.

Little Bug (Common Cold)

Little bug you have me
Inside my head you go
Fired up within me
On malign mission you roam

Little bug you affect me
Causing cough and wet wheeze
Sneezes round, forth, up and down
In bed reposed I be

Little bug you make me ill
Few days more with these chills
Across the floor staggering at will
Consuming small round white pills

Little bug you wilt me so
Pale skin starts at a show
Pinked whites of eyes, yellow gunk below
Tight tangled blankets of twill I’m rolled

Little bug you surprise me so
Coming at this very time
Never thought I’d see the warmth gain
While you terrorize my mind

Little bug I’ll set you free
In just a few weeks I’ll be back to me
You make me cold, I shake and moan
Persistence stands, you shall see- as you go

From strong and loud to meek fragile bones
From days about to stuck in grey clouds with this common cold.

On the Balcony with Love (at the Kitty Cat Club)

On the Balcony with Love

By Terry Scott Niebeling

Outside of the house

Watching droplets all

They bounce up in the sun

Lit sparkling they fall

Sunlight how nice

Made an ass of self

For getting after my girl

On account of my fault

Amber transparency

Whiskey glass fixed

In a cold dark corner

Full beer can of tricks

Bikers sit in the light

Talking weather and trash

They deliver their product

They careen as they pass

Balcony noise raindrops loud

Cars go by, and up, and around

Melt snow liquid moves splashing through

University sign scrawled illuminated blue

Machine gun fire streams

They fall from above

Perspiring from the heavens

Yellow orb showing love

Sit sip this splendid thought

Read and ponder this springtime hot.

Mental Morning (Me Post-Structuralism)

A bunch of facts and a boom

I’m scattered across the floor

Quick! Run-

Grab the broom:

Me Post-Structuralism

***

I lost my shit over breakfast this morning

The weather made me do it

Not the hangover

Or Clover

Oh, brother

No other lover

Apology of Autonomy

Soft as applesauce

Sometimes we make choices

Sometimes we get lost…

Raised red streaks down pale face shimmering

Of reckoning; today is the coldest day

One of those

‘Til tomorrow

Then we have to change yesterday’s name

Cold, sick, and hollow

Deep tracks we’ve followed

Cuddle long always

Wallow until warm stays

Over coffee, blank verse, and burnt toast

This one goes out to the one I love the most

I apologize profusely

To put it truthfully

Frigid weather courses through me

Computer screen’s bluey

Let’s make a hibernate date

I’ll change around Mid-May

-Out-

On the Campus Connector

On the campus connector

Day in and day out

Packed like sardines

Commuting about

Fidgeting feet

Finding transit retreat

No alternative route

So far from the house

Between Twin City scenes,

They stand in troves huddled in bunches.

Everyone rests

Until their stops

Too late for comfort

They stand to eat their lunches.
